Birthday in Manzanillo

It's amazing that something the size of a blueberry can make your whole body feel so yucky......I love this little thing dearly already, but it's been a rough few weeks. The best way to describe it(when I'm trying to tell my husband the reason why I was on the couch all morning)is that you feel like you're on a boat.....and granted they're are a few lucky ones, who don't get seasick but the ones that do know exactly what I'm talking about. It's miserable.....but then I look at my other 2 angels and think..."we're going to have another beautiful baby"......so worth it.

I feel ok this morning....so I write.

This last weekend we went to Manzanillo with some friends to celebrate my babe's birthday. I have been super duper nauseous these last few weeks, even going to the beach sounded like a chore(and I LOVE the beach!).......but I knew getting out of town and a change of scenery would be good for me since I've been spending most of the mornings...on the couch. Our friend Marguerite found a really big house on the beach, with a pool for us to stay at. Our own little resort. It was perfect. Erik and the kids took friday off from school so we could head out early......I packed the kids the night before.....cuz I'm pretty much worthless in the mornings now......it takes everything in me to get the kids breakfast, make lunches and do their hair. We had planned on leaving around 9, but didn't end up actually leaving until around 10:30.....I was moving a little slow. Manzanillo's only a 3 hour drive so it worked out that we would still have most of friday to hang out, just the 4 of us before anybody else got there.

The drive was great, pretty relaxing.......although, Costa was pretty anxious to get to the beach. He must have asked every 20 minutes if we were there yet. I was patient up until about the 5th time! I told him we would be there when we got there and to PLEASE stop asking!(reminding myself of the days when I was a kid and my parents would say the same thing) By this time, we really were almost there and my stomach was turning and twisting like I hadn't eaten in days.....when really I had just had about 10 saltine crackers. So I was hungry, getting nauseous again and annoyed.

We pulled into town around 2ish...... Erik knew he better find us a spot to eat quick or he was going to have one angry pregnant wife. Of course, right when we pulled in there were a gazillion mariscos places.....which actually sounded good that day, thank God because that was pretty much my only choice. I have been all over the board with what sounds good to eat.....in fact nothing really does.....my stomach goes crazy like I'm starving but nothing ever sounds delicious to eat. I just know I need to before the nauseousness gets worse. We found a place and filled our bellies and everybody seemed to be happier. READY for the beach!

We got to the house and you can guess what the first thing the kids wanted to do was? SWIM......of course.....and that's what they did all weekend long. They are both doing so good and it's so nice to know that your kids know how to to swim, such a relief. Oh, and we decided to let daddy open his present early so he could use them...some new flipflops. There must be magic in the sea air that does something for nauseous pregnant ladies.......because from the moment I laid on that lounge chair friday afternoon until sunday when were packing the car to head home, I was good! I really didn't feel sick the whole weekend! A few little spouts here and there, but for the most part......nada. It felt so good to feel good....especially for my hubby's birthday.

The weekend was spent soaking up the sun, games in the pool (crazy boys), playing in the sand, swimming in the ocean and eating......and drinking(except for me of course).......and boy did those mouth watering watermelon margaritas and mango banana daquiris that Alex was making look delicioso.....I was drooling.....my choice of drink for the weekend was fresca, with lots of lime... pretty tasty. Adam and Marguerite were simply wonderful with the meal planning and all the cooking they did. We had shish-kabobs friday night.......Marguerite made crepes saturday morning for Erik's birthday, Adam bbq'd saturday afternoon for lunch and then we ended up going out to dinner on saturday. The kids and I baked the traditional apricot pie on thursday before we left, but he's not much into sharing that so we baked him a butter cake so we could all sing to him.....we even put 31 candles on the cake. So blessed to have such great friends! I think Erik had a wonderful time celebrating turing "31"......Happy birthday babe! We love you SO very much! MUAH!

5 weeks

We are now 5 weeks and a few days pregnant! And, the nauseousness has already begun......ugh. Mostly just in the mornings and if I eat something right away, I feel better. My first day feeling sick was last friday....I wasn't feeling it, but I made myself go to the gym and to my surprise it actually made me feel better! So I went again today and I'm still feeling a little sick but hopefully it goes away soon! It's really weird, on the walk to the gym I feel so sick, but while I'm doing cardio, I don't feel sick at all! I am going to try really hard during this pregnancy to be good about what I eat and working out! I don't want to gain over 50 lbs like I did with the last 2!

Cravings so far...
Salty, spicy stuff......Last week we went to costco and we got some of those grape tomatoes....I ate 2 bowls of them that night with Stump's spicy seasoning on them....they were so good. Sweet stuff sounds really gross! Although, yesterday I had to have an orange julius! So I googled the recipe and made them for us.....so yummy and refreshing! Clamato is tasting really good. The other night I really wanted beef jerky, but they don't have it here:( Grilled cheese sandwiches sound good, too. I've had 2 in the last week and usually never eat them. Last friday I wanted mexican food SO bad.....It's just crazy that we live in mexico and there isn't any good mexican food restaurants. Bummer! I can't wait to have Casa when we go home! Erik made green chili enchiladas and they definitely satisfied the craving! Thanks babe!

Halle told me the other day...."That baby in your belly better be a girl mom!" And, of course Costa wants whatever his big sis wants....so he also wants another sister:) Erik asked me if we're going to find out what it is....? I don't know if I can wait!!! It was SO fun with Halle but I don't know if I can do it again....we'll see.

Mother's Day

I woke up mother's day morning to homemade cards from the kids and a starbucks:) Daddy even wrote on the cup....Happy mother's day! Love, Halle & Costa...pretty cute. They were so excited about my lucky day, as Halle was calling it.

Costa's card for me

Halle's card
We went to church and then had plans to go to PF Changs for lunch~it just opened here and I'm pretty excited, maybe because it reminds me of home!!!.....But my pregnancy cravings lead us in a different direction! We ended up going to the lebanese place to have shishtaouk.....yum. Afterwards we headed to the mall to walk around for a little bit...... and then came home to rest. It was a nice, relaxing day and I felt super special:)

Mexico actually celebrates Mother's Day today.....so Halle and Costa's school had prepared a program for the mom's this morning. Adorable. All 4 classes got up and sang a song and then all the kids gave their moms pink roses and little wodden boxes they had painted with some soaps and a little towel. The kids were SO proud! All of us moms had tears in our eyes, Halle prepared me and told me we would cry! I LOVE being a mom! Thank you Halle and Costa! I love you both SO very much!

May 2, 2010...We are so blessed

So many emotions today! First off, we celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary today! 7 years ago today, I married my best friend and soul mate, what a lucky girl I am! I LOVE you so much babe and absolutely love our life we have together.......you are amazing. I love you more and more each day and can't wait to see what God has in store for us for the years to come.....

We started off today with a favorite treat......Erik got up and went to get us some starbucks....a venti 2 pump white mocha....yum. Love him. We haven't been going as much on the weekends, trying to save money so this truly was a treat. As we were getting ready for church the doorbell rang.....a guy with a huge bouquet of beautiful flowers.......Erik said..."Someone is here for you babe"......WOW! So gorgeous! I LOVE today!

Sooooooo after church I told Erik we should stop on our way home and get a pregnancy test:) He just smiled......He was starving so I dropped him and the kids off at home and ran to the pharmacy to grab one.......

A brief little story:
We started talking about the idea of a third one a few months ago.......we both had been pretty content with Halle and Costa....but I think we both felt as though we were missing something. We knew anytime before now wouldn't have been the right time, with Eriks school and all the traveling, etc. Everytime we started to talk about it, the conversation always ended with.....I don't know. It's a hard decision when you have a 2 perfect beautiful kids, one of each sex. And life is SO easy now! Did we really want to throw another one in the mix? So, back in january while we were home we decided to have my IUD removed.....and basically let God decide for us. I was having some complications from it as well, and it just seemed like the right thing to do. We were really trying to wait until after June because Erik and I are supposed to be going to a wedding in New York by ourselves....without the kiddos...I wanted to feel good and be cute and be able to enjoy drinks with my hubby....I told Erik~maybe it could be a baby-moon for us? Well, God had other plans and apparently this is the right time......and we couldn't be happier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pregnancy test was POSITIVE within seconds! I went into the kitchen and handed it to Erik..."Happy anniversary babe!"

We were so excited we called and told both our families right away.......I think total shock and excitement came over both of us! Halle and Costa didn't know what to think.....but by last night they both were kissing my tummy already! SO cute. We had plans for a baby-sitter last night to go to dinner by ourselves, but we decided it was a day to celebrate as a family and ended up going to have pizza:)

We are 4 weeks pregnant and our baby will be here around January 7, 2011! We should know by July if we will be back in the states or if the baby will be born in mexico. 2011 will be a VERY exciting year for us with Erik's graduation as well! We are so BLESSED!

He DELIVERED!

Tonight is Erik's last night with his OB rotation......and so far he's delivered 3 babies! GO babe! It's just crazy.....he's been SO tired he doesn't even seem that excited about it! But that's ok, cuz I AM! I think it's prettttttyyyyyyy amazing:) He gets home in the morning and I'm asking him all sorts of questions.....he's just out of it! He's so funny because after his third delivery he said...."Well, you know 80% of deliveries a monkey could do the job"........it's the other 20% for episiotomies, c-sections that you need to know your stuff! His friend Nick was able to get a few pictures of his first delivery from his phone! So awesome, thanks Nick!

La fiesta de Ivana

Last week Halle had a birthday party for a girl in her class, Ivana. Mexican birthday parties are such a big deal......so it's something fun to look forward to! And, of course I get to practice my spanish talking to the parents! They invite the whole family, so Halle, Costa and I went. That was Erik's first night working all night, so he couldn't come with us.

The place was SO fun! They had lots of cool things for the kids to do......water boats, a music room, rock climbing, brincolin with a velcro wall that the kids could stick to with a special suit on, mechanical bull, and a haunted house. Halle and Costa both did the rock climbing and velcro wall~Halle got about half way up the rock wall and wanted to come back down, Costa wanted to go all the way to the top! He was so excited to touch the ceiling and I didn't even get a picture of it because I videoed it instead and the guy brought him down to fast!

!

Costa was completely freaked out when Halle went in the haunted house the first time by herself. He came running up the stairs to me hysterically crying, I couldn't understand a word he was trying to say to me! He was so scared he thought she was never coming out! Pobrecito! He's my little scared guy sometimes.....and so protective of his big sis! We went down and found Halle and showed him that she was OK.......she was such a cute big sis and took his hand and was trying to tell him not to be scared! Such a sweetie.....including him with her and her friends. All the kids were buying these little flash lights for 10 pesos each so we got Halle and Costa each one.....fixed that problem! Away they went! Super fun fiesta!
