His first game

Costa's first T Ball game was last saturday and Erik and I missed it! Parents of the year award! Yikes...no bueno. We had planned on going to Palm Desert for Lindsey's birthday and we were excited about our getaway together but super sad about not seeing our sons very first game. We definitely took that trip with some guilty consciences...especially Erik since he hasn't been to any practices or games yet. Costa was a trooper about it though! He kept his cool about the whole thing(I don't think he realized that us "leaving" meant we wouldn't be at his game saturday) He kept saying..."You can go to Lindsey's party, mom...but dad is staying here with us." "I mean, come onnnnn, he just got back from Pinetop and now he has to go to california!" "What?!?!" With that cute little grin he does. He's hilarious. Can't help but LOVE him to pieces. The team did great and he had a couple good hits. Bri was nice enough to take a few pictures for me and Seth did a video and emailed it to us! Thanks guys! Oh, and thanks Grandma Gloria for taking him and surviving the madness of opening day! And, Grandpa Tom for being there to watch his first game! Love you guys!

We actually had another game tonight and they did great! I didn't take any pictures tonight, but they'll be plenty more for that! I'm so excited it's baseball season! So much fun! GO Bluejays!

3 Months

Sweet baby Crew is 3 months today! Where is the time going? Aaahhh my baby is no longer a wrinkly little newborn. I'm trying to hold onto it as long as possible, though. He is really starting to look like his big sis! I actually think he's a mix of Halle and Costa, but a lot of people are saying he's all Hallers. He now has those chunky kissable cheeks and legs too! LOVE it....the baby rolls are the best. The lips are still perfect and plump! He's pretty squeezable! It was crazy, I looked back at him in his car seat today and he was reaching for his little toy and playing with it! It's just insane how they just start doing "things." He's so strong! He looks like he's going to roll over any day now! He's still cooing and smiling ALL the time....such a happy boy. Rarely cries...just when he's hungry! And, not a big fan of tummy time either...we keep trying though. He's ticklish under his right arm...he lets out this adorable chuckle when I'm changing his clothes. It's SO cute! He's starting to lose his beautiful golden tan but still has all his dark hair he was born with. He definitely got his daddy's eyelashes with the big brown eyes...the "lady killers" as Aunt Les calls them! And he still has the cute little dimple on his right cheek. He's SO long...like a string bean. Don't know where we got these long kids from. BIG hands. Everybody still comments on them. And the toes, they're not going anywhere...just gonna get longer;) he weighs thirteen and a half pounds! Big boy! Still nursing about every three hrs for 10-12 minutes on each side. He rarely has bottles but has about four and half ounces when he does. It's just crazy to me that my milk is chunking him up! Nursing is going great this time, so much easier, he seems content! Night time sleep has gotten a little better, last night I actually fed him at 7:30 and put him to bed and then let him go and didn't wake him at the 10 feeding like I have been. He woke up 11:45, ate and then went until 6:30! YEAH! That was a good night for us! Hopefully this continues...sleep is great....I've missed it! Daytime naps are pretty good, he does good in his bed and in his carseat! He's still usually only awake for about an hour and 15 minutes and then drifts back to sleep. He still sometimes wakes up at the 45 minute/1 hour mark and cries and then goes back.... He's still an amazing car baby! Thank GOD because we are definitely on the go everyday....Crew and Mommy's taxi. Let me tell ya, now with Tball for Cost and softball for Halle, it's all the time! Thank God daddy's coming home tomorrow and can help me a little bit. He lights up when he sees me, Halle or Costa....he definitely knows when we're around. We've missed daddy these last 2 months but I'm sure by the end of this month it will be all about him. He's coming home just in time for the fun stuff to begin. We're all pretty in love with this little guy and Thank God for sending him our way.

Lindsey's 30th in Palm Desert

This last weekend we headed to Palm Desert to celebrate Linds' 30th. Thanks to Grandma Dottie and Papa and Grandma Contreras it was able to happen for Erik and I! We definitely needed the time after not seeing each other much these last few months. Thanks guys! Mark rented a Limo bus so none of had to drive anywhere the whole weekend. It was SO fun! Our driver Russ, was one of the sweetest old guys I've ever met....he was awesome.

Birthday Girl and Les
Prego and her Capri Sun...what a trooper!

Jennie and Sara
The boys

We arrived into Palm Desert Friday night around 8PM, checked into our hotel and went straight to dinner at No. Da. Te....an awesome sushi place in the desert. We were there last year so it was fun to get to go back and see Shin, the owner and eat amazing sushi. We ate tons of sushi and drank lots of Saki(well, the boys drank lots of saki!.....I think Mark even drank TOO much Saki...yikes, he was not feeling good!) Lindsey's birthday cake was awesome.....a Starbucks cake! Good idea, Les! It turned out adorable.

The girls with Shin

Saturday we woke up, did a quick get ready and went and had breakfast on the patio at the hotel, it was a beautiful morning! The boys had golf lined up for the day so us girls decided to head over to El Paseo for some shopping and lunch. It was fun to get to meet and hang out with some of Linds friends that we've heard about....one of them, Jennie was on the bachelor 3 years ago with Brad Womack and was one of the last 2 girls left.....he didn't pick either of them! So it was funny to hear what she had to say about him. It was especially funny because he's all over the tabloids right now because he was just the recent bachelor again. Fun day with the girls!

Saturday night we went to a nice little italian restaurant. It was fabulous! Great company, food and wine! That night when we got back to the hotel Linds, Les and I had some good sister "laugh" time in the bathroom(we always pick the funniest places to hang out)....I just found Lindsey's diary from 1990 so we had fun laughing hysterically about boys Lindsey thought were "cute, nice and neat!" I love our sister bond time. It was so much fun!

Sunday morning we were all SO ready to get back home to our babies! We packed up and were headed out by 11AM.....the bus ride home was pretty quiet! The girls knew it was game time with the kiddos when we got home so we pretty much slept the whole time...it felt great! The boys watched sports. Made the drive seem pretty quick, which is always nice after a long weekend. Thanks Mark and Linds for a wonderful "getaway" weekend! Happy 30th Linds....cheers to our 30's!!!

Brothers

I just love how in love Costa is with this little guy. It's absolutely adorable. When it's just the three of us at home he's always asking if he can hold him, I love it. And when he's not holding him he's talking to him...calling him "Crew buddy"....the nickname he came up with for him. Costa has adjusted so well with Crew and has become an amazing big brother. I can't help to fall in love with both of them, everyday, more and more. Each day brings something new! Little blessings!

I did it...almost

Well, I almost survived being a single mom with a newborn...Erik will be home in 2 days, that's where the almost comes in;) We can't WAIT! To be honest, the month as flown by! At least we didn't have to go 4 weeks without seeing each other...the kids and I drove over to LA for the weekend right in the middle of the 4 week rotation. At times I have felt like I could pull my hair out, run away or break down in tears...but I've been a tough cookie. I can proudly say I've only had one break down with full on tears, from me anyways....the kids is a different story;) They've actually been pretty good, all things considered. New baby, daddy gone pretty much the last 2 months with his rotations. Impatient, sleep deprived mom(sorry Hallers and Cost). We kinda had crazy timing with having a new baby and these rotations all over the place. Why didn't we have this baby last year when we were twiddling our thumbs with SO much time on our hands....God is a funny guy. I feel like I have barely even seen Erik since we had him! All of January he was at Maricopa Medical Center doing his GYN surgery rotation and that was a CRAZY schedule....we were basically passing each other while I was feeding in the night he was leaving for work! Don't think we were really thinking totally straight on timing and what we would be doing now when we decided what the heck with having another one...but then again there never is perfect timing, right? You do what you gotta do and somehow you survive! And we all are becoming pretty attatched to our "Crew Man"....(daddy's nickname) already can't imagine life without him. It's crazy, I still shake my head everytime I look in the backseat and see all three of their car seats lined up! We have 3 kids! Nuts! We are truly blessed...I love watching all of our dreams come true;)

p.s...I could have NEVER done it without my amazing mom and mother and father in law......they fed us dinners constantly and Gloria was an angel with picking up Halle for me at school! I love you guys and am SO blessed to have you!
