He DELIVERED!

Tonight is Erik's last night with his OB rotation......and so far he's delivered 3 babies! GO babe! It's just crazy.....he's been SO tired he doesn't even seem that excited about it! But that's ok, cuz I AM! I think it's prettttttyyyyyyy amazing:) He gets home in the morning and I'm asking him all sorts of questions.....he's just out of it! He's so funny because after his third delivery he said...."Well, you know 80% of deliveries a monkey could do the job"........it's the other 20% for episiotomies, c-sections that you need to know your stuff! His friend Nick was able to get a few pictures of his first delivery from his phone! So awesome, thanks Nick!

La fiesta de Ivana

Last week Halle had a birthday party for a girl in her class, Ivana. Mexican birthday parties are such a big deal......so it's something fun to look forward to! And, of course I get to practice my spanish talking to the parents! They invite the whole family, so Halle, Costa and I went. That was Erik's first night working all night, so he couldn't come with us.

The place was SO fun! They had lots of cool things for the kids to do......water boats, a music room, rock climbing, brincolin with a velcro wall that the kids could stick to with a special suit on, mechanical bull, and a haunted house. Halle and Costa both did the rock climbing and velcro wall~Halle got about half way up the rock wall and wanted to come back down, Costa wanted to go all the way to the top! He was so excited to touch the ceiling and I didn't even get a picture of it because I videoed it instead and the guy brought him down to fast!

!

Costa was completely freaked out when Halle went in the haunted house the first time by herself. He came running up the stairs to me hysterically crying, I couldn't understand a word he was trying to say to me! He was so scared he thought she was never coming out! Pobrecito! He's my little scared guy sometimes.....and so protective of his big sis! We went down and found Halle and showed him that she was OK.......she was such a cute big sis and took his hand and was trying to tell him not to be scared! Such a sweetie.....including him with her and her friends. All the kids were buying these little flash lights for 10 pesos each so we got Halle and Costa each one.....fixed that problem! Away they went! Super fun fiesta!

Los Guayabos

LOOK FOR THE POST UNDER THE NIGHTS POST ABOUT HALLE LOOSING HER FIRST TOOTH!!!!

I went with the kids on a field trip last week to a place called Los Guayabos. It was a really cool place.......the kids loved it! Kids love to go on field trips and it's so fun as a mom to be a part of it! The place was kind of similar to a farm, but the only animals we saw were horses and dogs. They had an area where they were growing all sorts of vegetables. The kids got to take a carriage ride with horses, plant lettuce, ride horses and play instruments inside a real life tipe(teepee). I was kind of sad because they split the school into 4 groups and Halle and Costa weren't in the same group. It was annoying, but I just ended up spending the first part of the day with Costa and then the second half with Hallers. I got over it, but was very frustrated at first. I asked one of the teachers, but apparently she didn't know what was going on because she told me they were all going to end up together. Anyways, all in all I was so happy I got to go enjoy the day out with my kids!

Nights

I'm so tired....I need to go to bed. That California post took me forever!!! Tonight is Erik's second night working ALL night....8-8 shift. I miss him. I can't believe how calm I am about being alone at night! Guess I just prepared myself that this is how it's going to be a lot of the time........being married to a doctor! Wonder what he's doing right now? He's in the labor/delivery department so hopefully he's getting to do something exciting, like delivering a baby! The other night he saw 4 births, but didn't get to do anything....just watch. Poor guy he was starting to get sick that day! I feel so bad for him, everytime he has something important it seems he gets sick. But, he was much better today.....thank God. I'm so proud of my almost Dr. husband. Can't wait to hear the stories in the morning.....but for now I NEED to go to bed. Good-night!

She FINALLY lost it!

Dear Halle,

You finally lost your first tooth, babe! It started to feel loose when we were leaving for vacation to california almost a month ago........you have been very hesitant to let daddy and I wiggle it, but were showing us everyday that it was getting a little looser. Finally, last night you let me wiggle it a little harder and after a few tears, tissues and tugs the stubborn thing came out! YEAH!!! You have been waiting for this day for awhile now, being that all your cousins have lost a couple teeth already! The tears went away pretty quickly (thank God, mommy was feeling kinda bad).....and we ran upstairs to tell daddy and show him your tooth. You were so cute and wanted to call Grandma Gloria and tell her too! Such a milestone in my baby's life~I remember the pain you went through to get that tooth:( 6 years ago.......I was sad to see it come out!

So, of course we put the tooth in the pillow Aunt Lynz got you. You have been waiting to use it for so long! Costa was so funny, he told daddy....."Daddy, I don't have ANY money...." he wanted the tooth fairy to bring him some money also.....but we told him he has to wait until he looses his teeth, to just like you did!

The tooth fairy brought you 50 pesos, which converts to about $4 US dollars........she also left you a special note, here is what it said:

Dear Halle~

I'm so proud of you for being so brave about loosing your very first tooth! I hope you enjoy the 50 pesos I brought you! Can't wait to come again when you loose your next tooth!
Love, The Tooth Fairy
Oh, and can you give your little brother Costa a hug from me? Thank you!

California love Part II

Monday we headed back to San Diego for another wonderful week of vacation. We were SO exhausted from all the excitement from the previous week we really just wanted to relax.
One day Erik and I took the kids to mission to walk around.......we got breakfast, walked the pier, flew a kite and ended up touring the USS Midway Museum. It was pretty cool to see all the different military planes and what they were used for. We always see this big naval ship everytime we come to San Diego and this time we thought what the heck? Let's check it out. Our kids are getting to the ages where it's fun to do that stuff. Afterwards, we went next door to the Fish Market for some yummy clam chowder.

One night we took Uncle Dirk and Aunt D out to dinner at the Fishery. We wanted to do something nice for them for all the wonderful things they did for us and for letting us stay with them for so long! It was a wonderful night with amazing food, wine and company! Thanks again for everything Aunt D and Uncle D:)

Kayla LOVES to bake!!! She gave up sweets for lent so after she was baking up a storm!!! Halle was in heaven!

Aunt D and Kayla took us to their favorite sushi joint. It was super good. Afterwards, I got my first tour of their grocery store, Stump's Market. SO nice!.....Oh, how I MISS american grocery stores!

Erik and I went took the kids to the outlet mall the day before we left. I really wanted this Coach clutch purse that Aunt D and the girls had.....they got it for $35 bucks and I just had to have one! My hubby was so sweet to take me there to get one! And, our little Hallers got her first Coach....just a small wristlet wallet,it's so adorable. It was 75% off the original price and was only $20 and she had $10 from Uncle Sal, so she paid for half of it. She was SO proud! I told her I'll be borrowing it;)

Our last night we didn't really feel like hitting the town but we really wanted to see Matt, Kelli and Uncle Dean. Also, Kelli had come to Aunt D's three times already to see us, it was our turn to come to her! Uncle Dean and Matt just moved into an amazing apartment in downtown San Diego and I had heard all about it, my curiosity was peaked.......and, WOW the place is breathtaking..... what a view! After we hung out at their place for awhile we were all starving so Kelli, Matt, Erik and I went to eat at this place that Kelli loves called Wine Steals......they had some really good pizza. It was really great just talking with Kelli and Matt, my cousins and catching up on life! FABULOUS ending for our vacation!!!
