Camping.....La playa style

Our friends Adam, Marguerite, Kacie and Chris are so adventurous, and they always want us to join them, but it's kinda difficult for us because we have little kids~but last weekend we packed up and headed to the beach for a camping trip! We really wanted to get out of the city, and were supposed to go to Puerto Vallarta with some other friends but decided camping is more in our budget right now, and you definitely get your "fill" of the ocean and the beach! Sand is everywhere and there is NO escaping it when you're camping......so you just learn to get over it and enjoy it while you're there.
On the drive there, about 1/2 way we stopped at a chicken place~the pic below is the place we ate.......believe it or not~it was SO good! Now, 2 years ago I would have looked at Erik like "are you crazy? Sorry, but I'm not eating there!" Well, what can I say? Halle and I were asking him to stop for more on the way home......:) Let's just say....we've "broadened our horizons"....just a little~

The view was breathtaking.......so relaxing! The rest of the weekend consisted of searching for seashells and crabs, playing in the ocean, building sand castles, walks on the beach, soccer game on beach, games of go fish, drinking cervezas and of course, making smores!!!! Oh and I forgot to mention, Erik took Costi out to fish on saturday morning and he didn't get any pictures because he got sea sick!!!! Poor guy, now he knows how I feel!!!! Ugh!!!!!
